speed auction tv is a British shopping television channel owned by sit-up channels, which is a Virgin Media company. The channel was launched on the 27 July 2005, and features falling price auctions and sells a wide variety of products. The channel is live everday from 7.45am to 1.30am
It presently broadcasts on Sky Digital and Virgin Media.
When speed auction tv launched, The channel broadcasted Rising Price Auctions throughout the day and was only live Wednesday to Sunday 4pm to 8pm and 9pm to Midnight.
Prior to its launch, "speed auctions" were a slot broadcast on bid tv (as bid-up.tv). However, when the channel changed its format to focus primarily on falling price auctions, the speed auctions became pre-recorded. In July 2005, speed auction tv launched, which took an all responsibility for bid tv's rising price auctions. As a response, the "speed auction" slot on bid tv was axed, and the channel featured recorded auctions from the new speed-auction tv. Since the launch of speed auction tv, bid tv has not featured any live rising price auctions.
